Alternate Ending

Act III Alternate Ending (A couple months after Nora leaves Helmer.)

(Nora is starting her new life at an apartment away from Helmer. She is home when she gets an envelope from the deceased Dr. Rank. In the envelope it contains thousands of dollars.)

Nora: Oh my gosh! Why would Rank leave me all this money!? Did he really love me that much!?
(Nora writes a letter to Mrs. Linde and Krogstad to come see her immediately. Nora is good friends with both Mrs. Linde and Krogstad after she leaves Helmer. She thanks Krogstad for the blessing in-disguise he helped her achieve.)
[Mrs. Linde and Krogstad arrive at Noras' new apartment.]
[Knocking on door, Nora goes to answer it.]
Mrs. Linde: Hello Nora, how nice to see you! How have things been since leaving Helmer?
Nora: Things have been fabulous! I am starting to discover myself more and more. The reason I asked you and Krogstad to come over is because I received an envelope containing Dr. Rank's life savings.
Krogstad: Don't be alarmed Nora. When you and I were arguing over the letter I left Helmer, Dr. Rank over heard us talking. After I left Rank and I talked about you and he told me he would leave you the money after he died.
Nora: Dear god! Why wouldn't you say something Nils?! I have this poor mans money that has passed away.
Mrs. Linde: Don't worry Nora, he would of wanted you to have it. He really did have a secret crush for you.
[Nora getting a tissue to wipe her tears.]
Nora: Wow I am in shock. I don't know what to do with this money. I am not the little skylark I once was. I will not go blow it away shopping.
Mrs. Linde: I have an idea Nora honey.
Nora: What is it Kristina?
Mrs. Linde: Well rumor going around town is that Helmer is having a hard time raising the kids because he fired the Nurse and Maid and is having trouble raising the kids correctly.
Krogstad: Yes I have heard the same thing.
Nora: Oh Jesus, how terrible! Do you think if I wrote him a letter he would let me have custody of the children?
Mrs. Linde: Go for it Nora, it doesn't hurt to try!
(Nora writes a letter to Helmer convincing him to let her have custody of the children. He still wants Nora back but she refuses. Helmer is now becoming depressed he has lost his family because he is too controlling. Helmer continues his job at the bank and starts up a relationship with his secretary.)
[Mrs. Linde and Krogstad leave and the children arrive at Nora's new apartment.]
Children: We've missed you so much mommy!
Nora: I've missed you guys more! You are all going to be staying here for a long time, I now have the money to support you guys without your fathers help.
(Nora and her children are going to live happily ever after while Helmer's future is not bright. Mrs. Linde and Krogstad also will live happily and will continue to visit Nora and the children.)
