Act I is now over and I can not wait to finish reading the rest of this book. We now have a general idea about "A Doll's House". As Act I opens up we meet the characters and find out what they are all about. Helmer and Nora are a married couple, Helmer is the bread winner while Nora just feeds off of Helmers' money. Even though Nora is Helmers' wife she acts as his daughter and he treats her as one, "Is that my little skylark twittering out there?". Nora is a women with many lies. Nora is truly a scatterbrain who squanders her husbands money and lies to protect her family name and save Helmers life.
We meet Nora's childhood friend Mrs.Linde, who is a widow who has been left nothing and has came back to get job from Helmer. Nora says to Mrs.Linde, "Oh, how thoughtless of me! Here I am, chattering away dear sweet Kristina, can you ever forgive me?"(T/W), this shows that Nora is very conceited. Dr. Rank is a close family friend who has a physical ailment, I feel that Dr. Rank and Nora will start to catch feelings for each other. Krogstad is that last major character we meet in Act I. Krogstad is known as a degenerate. He is a widowed layer with a bad reputation because he forged a signature.
Krogstad is not the only one who has forged a signature. A major thing we find out is that Nora forged her fathers signature to pay for Helmers trip to Italy. Nora borrowed the money from Krogstad and now Krogstad is blackmailing her because he wants a better job at the bank. Nora is now paranoid that Krogstad will let out her big secret. Helmer is not fond of Krogstad at all he says "An atmosphere of lies like that infects and poisons the whole life of a home. In a house like that, every breath that the children take is filled with the germs of evil."(T/W).
Nora becomes even more paranoid then before and doesn't want to see her children because she is afraid she will corrupt them. If I was Nora I would kill Krogstad so my secret would not get out. I feel that Krogstad will tell Helmer Noras' secret and it will create a conflict between Nora and Helmer. What do you guys think will happen in the following Acts?
Leave your comments below. I hope this is an analyze and not a summary because I feel that they are basically the same thing :)

Great blog fellow classmate I think it was a very interesting summary/analyze of Act 1. I'm looking forward to reading more of the book as we move on. Nora just needs to stop trying to help others because she is just hurting herself in the end. See you in class tomorrow for my exciting reading!
